Lancaster County School District is excited to announce a few new security measures. On September 12, 2025 the EVOLV weapons detection system began being used in middle and high schools. The EVOLV weapons detection system was purchased with grant funding and capital improvement funds. Capital improvement funds cannot be transferred to the general funds or spent on salaries.
Centegix Crisis Alert Badges will be worn by all staff members and will be rolled out at the end of September. The badges provide an added layer of protection, ensuring quick communication in case of an emergency and helping us keep our schools safe every day. The security badges were approved as a capital improvement project in 2024. The standard procurement and contract process was followed resulting in the implementation this fall.
Vape sensors are being onboarded with middle and high school administrators and School Resource Officers. The 146 sensors are located in the bathrooms at the five middle schools and four high schools. Vape sensors were funded by a grant received by the Counseling Services of Lancaster who partnered with Lancaster County School District to provide this service.
If you or your child become aware of any threats, please notify school officials or law enforcement immediately. Reports can also be made through our district’s anonymous See Something/Say Something reporting system by clicking on the button at the bottom of the district or school sites.
