ILHS Freshmen- your Rising Sophomore IGPs will begin soon. You and your parent/guardian will receive an email from your counselor with a sign-up link and directions. You will need to complete the Rising Sophomore IGP Slides assignment BEFORE the meeting as well. Please give our counselors time to get the email out to you; rest assured, all students will be seen in a timely manner.

Students must arrive at school by 7:50 to get in the building for Saturday recovery.
Recovery for Fall classes must be completed by December 13th per state guidelines for recovering seat time.
Lancaster County School District will be testing the employee Centegix Crisis Alert Badge system next week. The tests are scheduled to be held before/after school hours, but we do realize there may be students in the building. When the badges are tested, there will be extra lighting sensors. Emergency Services (911) are aware of the testing schedule, but they may dispatch resulting in emergency personnel/vehicles may be present at school drop off/dismissal. We do not want you to be alarmed. The schedule can be found below.

Despite the challenges, the Warrior Band achieved unprecedented success. This year, they made Indian Land High School and Lancaster County School District history by performing for the first time ever at a Bands of America Regional Competition, where they ranked 7th in Music and 14th overall out of 28 bands. The group also placed 4th overall at the Rock Hill Olde English Festival of Bands out of 32 competitors. Their hard work culminated in earning a superior rating and a coveted spot in the South Carolina Band Directors Association 5A State Finals, held on Saturday, October 25th.
At state, the band placed 5th in Music during prelims and 6th in Visual Performance during finals—a remarkable accomplishment for the growing program.
Judges at the state finals offered glowing reviews:
“Of all the times I’ve seen you this year, I am convinced this is the best ever. You really saved it all for tonight, and I’m so glad I got to witness it.” — Tim Pierce, State Finals Judge (also judged at Bands Of America Coastal).
“I really enjoyed the program—such a cool concept. Some moments of great artistry, especially the interplay between the guitar and flute, were especially compelling. Congratulations on your state finalist status. Big fan. Big respect.” — SC State Head Judge Nola Jones
Directors Ms. Strauss and Mr. Roper extended their deepest gratitude to the Indian Land community for its unwavering support.
“Thank you to our superintendent Dr. Fitzpatrick and the LCSD School Board for recognizing our incredibly dedicated students and staff. Special thanks to Mr. Matthew Willis, LCSD Fine Arts Specialist, and Mr. Rick Parker, Principal of Indian Land High School, along with his administrative team, for their continued encouragement,” they said.
Finally, the directors wish to recognize the Warrior Band parents and families who work tirelessly—building props, loading and moving equipment, preparing meals, and chaperoning countless events.
“We cannot thank you enough,” they added. “This has truly been an incredibly special year.”
